  1. Thanks for your feedback!

The team will take it into consideration.

Hello guysss, so todayy,,   (silly youtube video intro)

Feedback from me and a couple more guys with whom i'm playing with:

    - First of all, i actually do like the changes. Unlike the sniper scope/sensitivity change, In my opinion. That has to change back to it's original state as soon as possible,         If people wanna zoom in more, they can use the old Venom mechanic (Zoom in twice)

      - New upgrade system, is actually wonderfull, i like the idea that when you get a new item. you can upgrade them with whatever you desire, on the other hand, i don't think it's a good idea to add both speed and HP to an item. Keep it either speed or HP.    and certaintly don't add those 2 options to accessories.

      - Whenever we used to upgrade a weapon to level 5, we got this deep red(adv) or blue(mp) color, when we do that now it looks like a level 1 version, and since                  you can't upgrade it twice or more, will we not see those beautifull items anymore?     or maybe its just better to revert to the old leveling (upgrading) system.

      - Weapon Balances, Bazooka's and Grenade's do too much damage(it does drop the skill gap 😉 )  i would try removing 25% of the damage for all of them.

Snipers: Everyone in the game was basically using Sea eagle snipers, almost all snipers that got realesed were built off of them. Yet again,                                                 The zoom and sensitivity are now unplayable.

Shotguns: Bombard and Zolo Way too op, most of the time you can 2 shot people, 2 shots take around 0.3 second to shoot.                                                                                     Driver: I like the idea, but if you wanna get an easy 1v1 kill you rocket someone, and then spam your driver if they are close.                                                                                     (Too fast/a little too much damage for 5 fast shots?)

Melee's: Mad wrench speed is wayyyy toooo much. You can have 2720 HP(which in general is too much already) and still run decently fast.                                                             HAS TO CHANGE imo.

      - Technical,  The obvious: EU/Asia servers                                                                                                                                                                                                              Maybe finally a decent anti cheat.                                                                                                                                                                                                                              DDoS protection(You will need it, Trust me)

Other than that, i'm glad Microvolts will be back and hope to see a lot of you guys in the battlefield 😄

I won't be able to get my level 91 icon back, but let's see how far we can get in this version!

  2. With limited manpower and cost, we are trying to prioritize the essentials and those needed for the game's longevity.
We are not a big team and therefore there's a limit on the amount of work we can do within a month, and my job is to distribute them in the right way.
Currently, the development direction is focused on community-related content that can be maintained in the long term, with low maintenance costs, and not consumed in a short period of time.
As part of that, we value keywords such as individual skill, honor, personality, and affection.
Hence, Battle pass is not on the list yet, but if Microvolts Recharged gets a bigger player pool and shows great potential, we may be able to hire more staff for the dev team. Then we would be able to actually work on it more aggressively.

P.S. This isn't announced yet but there is going to be a new Membership, where you can get some benefits regarding convenient features (It won't impact on in-game balance). It's not finalized yet but I would say it will be worth buying.

    11 hours ago, Tanooki said:

So as we all know, battlepasses are passes you get rewards from for playing the game, there's free tiers and premium tiers if you purchase it. In this thread I just want to give a concept of what the tiers could be. Probably make it seasonal too, since they have the assets for pirates, halloween, autumn, winter etc.

Obviously, the pass should have 100 tiers, anything earned past 100 will give bonus MP as a reward.

    Free Rewards:

-Free rewards, as some of you know, won't be as juicy as the premium ones, but they can still be good! I feel every 5 tiers could give something pretty good, such as a 2000 MP, and maybe every 10 tiers gives 500 battery. Maybe the free reward for tier 50 could be a weapon box and you can pick one of your choosing (or random). Then maybe tier 100 for the free tiers could give you a set like pluvia, blessed chip, or something like that (these are examples don't kill me). And every normal tier inbetween could give smaller MP rewards, with some coupons if they bring back the coupon system. Maybe even having a set like glacies / the hippo in there somewhere.

    Premium Rewards:

-The paid rewards should obviously be better, and I feel every 5 or 10 tiers should give RT (similar to how fortnite rewards vbucks, aka cashback), while the smaller tiers offer something like better MP amounts and more frequent battery drops and coupons. The premium battlepass can have more frequent sets and weapon boxes to pick from, maybe every 10 - 20 tiers gives you a box to pick from or a set, and the weapon box can contain better weapons (visually, ofc, they'll all have the same stats as normal ones). Ontop of that some of the sets could be better versions of the ones mentioned before, instead of blessed chip, maybe you get cursed chip instead at tier 50. And then at tier 100, you get a seasonal skin with a weapon box for the current season (maybe first season it's a hammer box, that can you can pick a slate, silver, or obsidian hammer from, then next season it has tlaloc series etc). Or maybe add 2 featured weapons each season at tier 50 and tier 100 along with sets.

I know it sounds like the premium BP would be bloated, but in total it could have like 3 weapon boxes, and like 4 skins, along with some RT and other goodies, which is the norm for a battlepass.

So in conclusion, the price for the pass should obviously be $10, and $20 if you want to boost 20 levels and have the battlepass like alot of other games do. And ofc it would cost about $1.50 (whatever that converts to in RT now) to go up a tier. Obviously my thread isn't the absolute to everything, but what do you guys think?

In this post I'll be going over the weapon balancing in the Microvolts closed beta. This is one, of many posts I will be making about many different topics.

    1) Shop Weapons
Philosophy and Explanation: All weapon categories (besides sniper) should follow a "light, medium, heavy" balance pattern. Keeping this pattern is key to keeping the balance in check in MV. If you want power, you make it slower, more sluggish. If you want speed, you take away damage. With that being said, here's my review, and what I would change.

Note: This post will only mention the 3 regular shop weapons per category, no reskins, such as the umbrella melees. Also, a small note towards the bottom regarding the "Basic" weapons.

    a) Melee: Melee is slightly too strong overall, the main issue is the balancing between the three melee types. The Wrench melee is too fast, for the amount of damage it has. The damage needs to be decreased, because it allows you to run too fast, and still one-shot enemies.

Also, the melee weapons have the wrong stats. This is what the stats should be:

Steel Hammer: Highest Run Speed, Lowest Range/Power
Mad Wrench: Highest Range, medium speed/range
Chainsaw: Highest Damage, slow speed/low range.

    b) Rifle: The rifle is the most balanced category I'd say, from what I've seen so far. I'd make them all more accurate, simply because the spread/bloom of the weapons is not skillful and it makes the game feel sloppy.

The rifles have good stats now, but they could be better.

Pepper: Highest fire rate, high accuracy, fastest reload, highest magazine, low damage
Hornet: Medium fire rate, medium accuracy, medium reload, medium magazine, medium damage
SherlocK: Slow fire rate, highest accuracy, slow reload, small magazine, highest damage.

    c) Shotgun:  Shotguns are very strong, people that are saying otherwise are missing. You can still one-shot any HP player with any shotgun, that is very strong. The balance with the shotguns is interesting, but I don't like it, personally. I think the "Type C" shotgun (Driver/Fast shotgun) is not a good idea. It's not skillful, and the stats on it are not good. It stands out too much, in my opinion. I would change it to how MV should have done it in the first place, which I will explain below.

The shotguns also have the wrong stats, KW is the light shotgun, Bombard is medium, Driver is heavy.

KW-79: Lowest damage, fastest swap speed, medium accuracy, fast reload, 3 bullets
Bombard: Medium damage, medium swap speed, medium accuracy, medium reload, 3 bullets
Driver: Highest damage, slow swap speed, very accurate, slow reload, 2 bullets

    d) Sniper:  The way that the snipers are balanced now is interesting, I actually almost have 0 complaints. One big issue though, is that they're too zoomed in. Not sure if it's always been that way, or if I'm remembering wrong, but many people including myself thought the same thing. Here's what I'd change about them, but they're actually quite fine now.

Venom: Medium damage, fast zoom speed, fast reload
Sea Eagle: Highest damage, slow zoom speed, slow reload (buff zoom speed slightly, and reload speed)
Mist: Low damage, medium zoom speed, medium reload, 3 bullets. (should be able to 1 shot headshot on anyone, 2 shots to body)

    e) Gatling: Not many people use the gatling gun, but just by looking at the stats, they could use some changes. Here's how I would rebalance them, almost identical to the rifles.

If you could change the fire rate of the gatling guns, I would make this list much different, but for now this will do:

DareDev: Lowest Damage, Highest Accuracy, Fastest Warm-Up, 120 ammo
Firefly: Medium Damage, Medium Accuracy, Medium Warm-Up, 150 ammo
Crank: Highest Damage, Lowest Accuracy, Slow Warm-Up, 180 ammo

    f) Bazooka: The Bazookas are good, but the Mimic or the "Type-A" Bazooka is bad. The Mimic works similarly to the Driver, in that they both are meant to have high fire rates, so that you don't have to swap. I don't like that, there's a reason I reworked the Driver shotgun. Here's how I would rebalance them:

The Bazooka's have the wrong stats, like the shotgun and the melees. Mimic is the light, Pound is the balanced, and Pocket Rocket is the heavy.

Pocket Rocket: Highest damage, highest blast radius, slowest rocket, 2 ammo
Mimic: Low damage, low blast radius, fastest rocket, 3 ammo
Pound: Medium Damage, medium blast radius, medium rocket, 3 ammo

    g) Grenade: The grenade balancing is quite good, but it's swapped with the wrong weapons/models. Here's the stats to fix that.

Pulse: Low damage, Low Blast Radius, Most Distance, Fastest Fire Rate, Fastest Reload.
Exile: Medium damage, Medium Blast Radius, Medium Distance, Medium Fire Rate, Medium Reload.
Thunder: Highest damage, High Blast Radius, Low Distance, Slowest Fire Rate, Slowest Reload.

    2) Basic Weapons:
The Basic Weapons should be the middleground between all weapons, to make it simple, you could balance them off of the "Variant B" of all weapons, the "Medium" weapon type, for example, the "Exile" grenade launcher. The specific stats of the basic weapons should be the same as an upgraded version of the "Variant B" weapons.

    Conclusion:
Weapon balancing in Microvolts is easy, but it's about staying consistent between all categories and making sure each weapon is good at their own thing. Currently, we have weapons that are too good at too many things, such as the Bombard, or the DareDev. All weapons need their trade-offs, and to combat the trade-offs, we have upgrading for that reason. Please, if you have any questions, feel free to DM me or reply, I'll try to get to as many things as I receive. All feedback is welcome 🙂

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback. Our game designer will carefully review it.

Your feedback will be a great help to make a fun and enjoyable Microvolts Recharged! 😄

  5. We've sent out all the beta keys we currently have. If you did not receive the key, I would like to apologize.
A lot more people than expected have applied for the closed beta. I thought we had enough beta keys, but it wasn't.
In particular, we found that some people were not aware of the closed beta due to the short period of registration for it.
If the 2nd beta goes on, we will prepare so that more users can participate.
Thank you for your interest in Microvolt Recharged. We'll do our best!

  6. I've spent quite a lot of time communicating since the closed beta, and I want to appeal that I'm trying quite hard, although it's not visible 😄
During the beta period, we are focusing on finding and listing problems such as system or balance through user feedback or indicators.
When the final closed beta is over, we will be collecting feedback via a testers survey and if the future direction is decided, we will work hard to fix and develop it again.
We ask for your patience during this time.
We would like to thank you for your continued interest in Microvolts and your feedback.
If you give us more detailed feedback on balance and bugs, it will be helpful for the improvement of Microvolts Recharged.

  7. There will be no balance adjustment during this beta.
I think users need enough test time in the same environment. Depending on your understanding, you may find various settings, etc.
At the end of CBT, we'll be getting overall feedback via a tester survey, but if the balance is adjusted, there may be confusion in collecting feedback.

  8. 12 hours ago, Emi said:

Hi, Emi here. I just want to give my opinion about this game and stuff. I'm not good at all weapons.. But I'm certainly aware of what things are off as someone who plays MV for a long time..

So.. Heres is my opinion about this game..

    -Negatives

    1. Basic weapons are way too OP. They're more powerful than what you buy in MP shop... Just because it's all about free to win, doesn't mean that basics should be stronger than anything in the shop, ppl would just not buy anything at all, and wouldn't be worth spending money on RT to waste it on capsule for weapons or buying RT weapons.

    2. I don't even know where to start with stats.. It's so confusing and super unbalanced. You can now get HP and speed from accessories?? I don't find that a good idea because it will only gonna make the game even more difficult since taking ages to kill them.

    3. If you get full speed set + speed melee upgraded, you can outrun a normal zombie even with their sprint. Only grandpa can catch up with their sprint. I find full speed is abnormally fast as heck with higher speed melee, It just feels off.

    4. I hope that in the final release isn't gonna keeping the same upgrade system as closed beta... 5 LVL - 9 LVL is the best option.

    5. I saw someone using hacking yesterday, I can't exactly remember their username unfortunately.. I consider there should be a good anti-cheat. XIGNCODE3 sucks. Sucks so bad that I saw so many hackers in Surge NON STOP.. Even it can DETECT cheat engine, It cannot detects other than cheat engine and It's super easy to bypass it by just modifying cheat engine executable name or just use a different hack that isn't related to cheat engine. Please don't use XIGNCODE3.. Just find other good anti-cheat.

    6. Massive drop FPS from nowhere

    +Positives

    1. Actually, I like the idea you can give any different set/parts stats you want. That means that if I want speed set/parts so I start opening RT capsule and some luck enough to get naomi set/parts. I can give my naomi set/parts stats to speed and able to change it whenever I want. It will save huge time, save a lot RT and save really good inventory spaces for everybody.

    2. NO MORE EVOLUTION BULLSHIT. GOODBYE ANNOYING SAMURAI KAI.

    Suggestions

    1. Basic weapons should get nerfed and less powerful than MP/RT weapons, and have better weapons balance.. I'd say weapons should have A, B, and C categories such as.. A is for faster reload, B is for power and C is for firerate.

    2. Get rid of every stats from basic sets. It won't make sense to spend MP on sets in the shop. You can keep Simon and Sharkill's basic stats since those are the only characters that have no proper set/parts at all. But should be nerfed their stats like Simon and Sharkill should have 2300 HP and 8% speed. Amelia and Sophitia should be able to wear every single naomi's outfits including from the shop or capsule.

    3. Better balance for stats. Just like I mentioned how you can outrun a normal zombie + sprint with full speed set and should only be able to outrun if the zombies aren't sprinting. Just get rid of speed/hp from accessories it's just not a good idea. Only keep ammo/bullet resistance for accessories. And get rid of bullet resistance from set/parts.

    4. Get a better anti-cheat than XIGNCODE3, It's just useless and easy to bypass.

    5. My fps keeps dropping constantly when I'm supposed to have around 200 frame rate. But my fps drops down to 60-30 and makes it unplayable for me.. I don't know what causes this to happen.. Some ppl said it's because I'm using an intel processor. I don't know if it's true, my pc isn't even trash for MV to run and I believe this game is just poorly optimized and should be fixed asap.

Overall, I believe that Microvolts do have the potential to get better as long developers do listen and try their bests to understand what we exactly want for MV!

    (No bulli me, please. 😭)

The balance will be adjusted based on the collected feedback after the closed beta is over.
The anticheat program has not been applied yet, but it will be applied when full release.
We've decided to use Xigncode3 already, and please understand that it cannot be changed.
If you are aware of the hacking tool, please send it to us so that we can take action on it to be secured.
In addition, can you explain more about what happens when your FPS drops? In particular, please check the CPU and GPU usage rate in that situation. Please also take a look at the CPU process share and check whether Microvolts or other programs are occupying 100%.

I think to fix this problem they could add the item and just make it cost MP for the beta.

Inventory Expansion items have been added to the shop in today's patch, so you are now able to increase your inventory spaces up to 1000 slots.

Sorry for not thinking about it in advance!

As a veteran player that joined the game in 2013 i have a lot of stuff to cover for the beta.

    What i would change:

    • Every weapons' stat needs to be reworked. Although the game might be ok for newer players. The main selling point of the game for me is the swapping mechanic. It may increase the gap between players, everyone who wanted to get better learned the swapping mechanic. Without the swapping mechanic i felt as though i was using the double jump option lesser as well. Movement speed of Wrench stat weapons are very broken and it feels weird when switching to other weapons and getting that slow down (Especially with speed upgrade wrench weaponds). The ammo capacity should stay the same as microvolts surge in my opinion especially since it would make it harder to distinguish which weapon the enemy is using, although it may lead to some cool mind games i still believe that they should be 3/6 for bombard, Kw and 2/8 for driver stat weapons. Sniper zoom speed change made it harder to quick scope close enemies and the double zoom makes it harder to see, instead i would suggest adding an option to add double zoom on top of normal zoom to every sniper would be better overall in my opinion. Basic weapons shouldn't be way better then other weapons in the shop and capsule. The firing rate of grenade launcher and bazooka, mainly the basic ones, make it easier to spam, harder to dodge and very annoying to deal with.
    • Movement feels janky or maybe its the animations that make it feel that way.
    • The stats of some characters aren't the same in the beta hope they will be in the actual release. (Sophitia, Simon)
    • I don't see ammo capacity increase on accesories. It would be nice to have them maybe not for explosive weapons such as zooka or nade but for the other weapons and again being able to switch for every weapons' ammo capacity but not have 2 accesories add to the same weapon. So you can't put 2 accesories on sniper for example.
    • There were none but in the previous iteration of the game there were character specific weapons and i think that shouldn't be the case.
    • Being able to upgrade weapons to max once is nice, for cosmetic purposes i think that there should be option to add glow and for ADV and mp weapons be able to chose color iteration from yellow to red for adv and green to blue for mp. Im not sure if the capsule will be the same but it would be nice to roll for a version of the weapon that you would like for example lets say there is pepper and ADV pepper in the same item pool but be able to choose to get adv pepper or mp pepper, would make it nicer for cosmetic purposes.
    • The new sounds also feel akward to play with, i feel like im not getting feedback when i hit the enemy.
    • Add an option to remove censorship or whitelist words such as AFK. Words like afk getting censored to *** is very anoying, especially since i like to talk a lot during the game.
    • If the trade system is still in the game would like to not wait for too long before being able to trade items.

    What i would add:

    • Not sure if the daily reward system is still going to be available, but if it isn't it would be nice to get rewards once per day after playing for some time, maybe 1 hour or so. Rewards could be anything small, MP, Batteries, inventory capacity upgrades. Inventory given once a week or month.
    • Add better achievements and make them give cosmetics, MP, Batteries, inventory capacity upgrades depending on the difficulty.
    • Every 10 levels maybe include inventory upgrades or small cosmetics on top of level up MP for reaching those levels. Maybe after the first 7 multiples of ten can give you a golden version of the basic weapon to show that you reached that milestone.
    • As far as cosmetics having different stands like the scooter, chair and different scaffolds would be nice to have. Could add animations to showcase them in game just like the taunts. Maybe pandoras chair appears from underground and she sits on it and the scaffold could change ground texture. This one is purely for cosmetic though.

As far as the level icons i dont mind them, it would be very hard to keep adding icons to show progress for the level ups if level up system is giong to be as fast as in the beta. That would be all! I hope the game returns to its early days of glory!

Thanks for your feedback, the team will review it.

  11. It seems possible to add higher resolutions after considering the cost of UI locations, scales, and some other stuff to modify.
But it would be low quality because of low-resolution textures, which means we probably would need a graphical remastering.
And it doesn't seem to be possible at this moment due to the expenses and time to work on it so I will need to think about it.

I don't see any harm in making those bad boys unlimited!

All MP and RT items will be unlimited!

Only the tutorial rewards are Limited-time items.

MV players have always been so incomprehensible. Come on.

The game have been released for years. Still we have tons of bugs, inconsistences and things to adjust. NQ Games sold the game because they wanted to move to mobile gaming. That's it. It's not like Masang was ready to starting working on it, adding insane features or revamping the entire game as soon as they bought it.

You were wrong to expect new updates on a closed beta. Maybe they do have new updates ready to release, but it's not necessary for a closed beta. Right now it's time for Masang to test the game, have a better understanding on how the servers and internal tools handles a good amount of players, and gather feedback on a stable version of the game.

Yes, stable version. I've seen every twitch stream so far and all I saw were people being able to play. There isn't any major issue on the game right now, even tho the game is so old and it's being run by new devs. It's not like they just need to run a .exe and the server is up with everything you wanted back and even new stuff. Working on a new game takes time, resources and a lot of testing. They also need to adjust their way of making content to fit MV.

For all the beta testers so far, please do your best on reporting any bugs you find. There are some old bugs/glitches that were reported to NQ Games many years ago and never got fixed. It's finally time to be heard and help developing a solid game. They key here is to have the basics well done.

Honestly Masang did a pretty good job on this closed beta and I'm looking forward for a new key drop. If you only wanted to play because of new stuff, few free to come back in a year or so, and enjoy watching youtube videos until then.

Also, @microvolts/leo, could you please DM me on forums or contact me using my account's email? I really wanted to talk about some promising stuff. Thanks.

    Thanks for your comments.

I guess you are acknowledged well about the process in the gaming business. As you've mentioned, we do have experience in publishing/releasing several game titles so far but for Microvolts, we started off from zero bases. And now we are trying hard to comprehend the system and the game itself better. Hopefully, we could reach a bit closer to the polished online service throughout the KPI and your feedback during this beta.

I would like to say that I am so happy that I have the opportunity to bring Microvolts back to life.
The main priority of the team is to provide a more convenient gaming experience that comes from an improved system, which is based on Microvolts' own classical old-school feelings. Previous unresolved bugs and system stability are also major challenges. Rather than content that can be consumed in a short period of time, the development direction is focused on a community that can be maintained in the long term.  As part of that, we value keywords such as individual skill, honor, personality, and affection.

We are also very concerned about the longevity of the game. We are also very concerned about maintenance costs and stable sales. I eager to make this game worth to spend the money.

It may seem frustrating the old Microvolts fans that we do not fully understand the MV yet, but we will be slowly growing and learning. I think that one day we will become a team that shows high performance over the time. We ask for your continued interest, concern, and honest feedback.

    Thank you.

+) I recommend you to talk in public so others can read and discuss with various perspectives from diversity. That would be appreciated and also be helpful to make a right decision. Please understand this. If you have any doubts or suggestion, please let us know in the forum and we will review them.

  17. Firstly, I think that the user's opinions (preferences) should be reflected in the existing system of Microvolts. Basically, there are three types for each weapon, and there are no differences between MP/RT, only visual differences.
For long-term service, it is important for us to generate revenue as well.  Instead of pay-to-win elements, we are preparing membership and item skin as a new buisness model. It has not been disclosed yet, the membership will provide convenient features. The final version will consist of useful items. You know, revenue will let us continue to develop more and more new content. 😄 We hope you'll like our new skins that will come up.

  18. Currently, there is only one server running for the closed beta due to the limited resources, that is located in Virginia, US where the players from NA, SA and EU can play without huge network latency problems. (I apology for Asia region about this.)
We are expecting to get some meaningful statistics such as which region has the biggest player base and so on.

Additional server locations will be taken into consideration when full release.
