Nope that's a simple technique you learn fast and is not spamable, weapon switching destroys the whole game by making the whole map into a spamable rocket/grenade mess.

I understand how from your point of view it seems completely normal and fine, but you need to look at it from the perspective of a new player/beginner. It's just too tedious and not fun, even Csgo removed the switching Awp

this guy is 100% right lmao

It is manageable and possible, but it's simply so much grind put into a single weapon, to the point where many people will never even have a single level 9 weapon. I just think it's unnecessary, though, they could easily make the upgrades 0-9 if they wanted to. Especially with the 100% success rate, but it just feels wrong to make new players feel like they have to grind out the game to be on the same competitive level. MV has a very unique issue where the entire basis of the game is/was meant to be pay to win, and when you take away those aspects, you're still left with "play to win", or "grind to win", which is still problematic in some situations, the main reason is for fairness and competitive integrity.

You can have at least 1 level 9 weapon by level 20 without the possibility of upgrade failure, and I'm being conservative with the estimate. While the game should be more beginner friendly, making max level weapons easily accessible doesn't solve the issue and at the same time takes the challenge out of the game.

The only reason people play videogames is artificial challenges like these and nothing more. Making it too easy is just as bad as being sadistic with it the way Rock Hippo was.

But if you do that then you'll make an entire weapon series useless for a person who doesn't play with Sherlock. Regardless of whether you do a reskin or by advancing stats of one gun, you'll still encounter the same issue that you mention in your own post which is "possibility of winning...weapons I will never use" because you may have wanted the gold version but won the bronze.
At least with the reskinning system a person can get a weapon they like just with the downside of it not being the exact color they wanted.

But isn't the fact that all weapons follow a certain template the very point of a weapon series?

Winning a certain weapon as per the system I was talking about in my previous post might leave me disappointed if I don't win the exact weapon I wanted, but even then it's only marginally worse that my first choice and I can use it. Why should the revamp be taylored around giving everybody the opportunity of using a weapon of any series, given that this makes weapons lose their inherent value i.e. being particularly good in some way over others?

What you are arguing for is making each and every one of the 100 MP/RT/Capsule types of weapons viable for everyone at the cost of making everything virtually equal, which is a raw deal.  Everything will be stale and the desirability of items won't be tied to anything of substance.

Sure, there will be people who won't ever spin for a capsule bundle because it doesn't fit their playstyle or whatever, but unless they have an autistic infatuation with the series they will find some other alternative. Nobody is going to cry over not being able to use a certain weapon, but in the off-chance that they do, that's the price to pay for a weapon system that isn't linear and bland.

4800 energy for a final upgrade is a lot... Especially for having 7 weapons, and with my weapon balancing suggestions from earlier, there should be a reason to have all types of weapons, for example, Pepper, Hornet, and Sherlock. People shouldn't only just use one, having a good variety should be the goal. There's nobody in this game that could realistically expand their inventory and upgrade all their weapons to level 5, and upgrading their parts/accessories to choose their stats. Level 9 upgrades were something that just introduced more P2W aspects, which were unhealthy for the game. Super glues, paid energy recharges, things like that. Glowing weapons are kinda cool, but they're a bit too flashy in my opinion and I think this game could go without that. The change of the flash on the gun is cool enough to me, and the color changing aspect of the MP/ADV weapons.

Nope, level 9 is manageable if upgrades can't fail any more.

  6. The first point is terrible in my opinion. It would be much better if the entire pirate rifle series would be a reskin of ONE weapon, be it the Sherlock or whatever, where the Gold one was slightly better in one stat, while the Silver and the Bronze one were better in some other stat. Something like 10 extra power, 20 extra accuracy, nothing insane

What if I want my rifle to shoot like a Pepper? They solved the problem with parts where you have to roll the capsule machine 999 times if you want a full HP or run speed set, and now I have to subject myself to the possibility of winning 2 weapons I will never use.

I agree with pretty much everything else except what you said about parts, which as I said earlier is a step in the right direction in my opinion.

  7. 1. So while I get Masangsoft's intent of making the game more cosmetic based, I'm not sure if taking out the individuality of every single gun is the way to go.

What I mean is every single weapon, bazooka, shotgun, grenade launcher whatever, has 3 distinct tiers. The shotguns, for example, have a gun which has medium power, high firing rate, low accuracy and reload speed and an ammo clip of 2 shots (this tier has the KW-79 and all the other shotguns with its same stats). There are 2 other tiers with different stats, clip sizes and so on. My problem isn't really the fact that these tiers exist as they already did in the old MicroVolts, but they make everything bland in that every single weapon is a carbon copy of one another. Masangsoft's intent to a strict adherence to these tiers kind of fucks everything, at least in my opinion.

They could've kept the old tiers (Sherlock, Driver, Pocket Rocket, Thunder are powerful but have some sort of drawback, Hornet, Bombard, Pound have medium power with less drastic drawbacks, KW-79, Mimic, Pulse, Pepper are the least powerful but make up with other stats) AND made it so the meta (which was almost entirely based on having the most powerful weapons available with the highest swap speed) was more varied. They could've done that by reducing the swap speed of the Bombard, Pound etc. slightly, adding some more default accuracy to the Sherlock and so on.

All it took was some slight tweaks and a relatively similar balance would've been achieved. I don't get why they had to change the weapons completely. They could've taken the old MP weapons as they were, not changing anything beside some small details I mentioned above, and design weapons from the ground up by keeping ADV Weapons and Capsule weapons as similar to MP weapons as possible. I.E. An ADV-Mimic has slightly better stats than a Mimic, and a Duke has slightly better stats than an ADV-Mimic.

The way things will work out now, the Duke series will have a bazooka which is a reskin of the Pound, another one which is a reskin of the Pocket Rocket, and another one which is a reskin of the Mimic. All 3 of them should be slightly better Mimics in my opinion.

    2. You can get way too many bonus stats with sets and accessories.

18% speed and 560 bonus HP is insanely high

    3. Snipers are wonky

Revert snipers to how they were and increase their swap speed so you can't instantly pull it out and quickscope. A nice fix that I read about here was making it so only headshots kill you instantly. Another nice thing would be to give players the ability to adjust their sniper scope sensibility SEPARATE from your normal sensitivity used for other weapons.

This is MY opinion and I hope to get other people's opinions on how to fix snipers, because I think everyone agrees that they're by far the worst weapon in this closed beta.

    4. The forums NEED a better way to make polls

The way polls are now, you can't type anything besides the two options people can vote. It would be nice if you had a field to type stuff in like a standard thread. For example, on a thread like this one people would be able to vote whether the agree with my first, second, or third point etc.

It would be much wasier for the devs to differentiate between priority issues and less important issues based on community investment in the matter.
